Great Xmas video

Many of you have probably already seen this video on the BMW commercials. I still chuckle each time I see it. Did anyone react this way this Christmas? Most likely not, but don’t you miss the days where you blew a fuse when you got what you wanted?

Incidentally, I think BMW edited out the Nintendo 64 from their video, as I recall seeing a robot on the box. Did anyone else notice this?

Here’s a link from the Daily News about how this video became insanely popular on YouTube.

I like this re-mix of the video, slowing down certain parts of it to make him sound like a beastly maniac!

amen on that last thought. I’m fairly certain that I reacted like that to presents when I was a kid. The difference is that my folks had the good sense not to commit every moment of my existance to tape (16-mm film, whatever). The breeders have made it impossible to really feel like an adult anymore. not terribly surprising, then, that the jackasses walking past my apartment around 2 a.m. made noises that sound eerily similar to the caterwauling of the child in the commercial. (also not terribly surprising that a nation of and for children would elect Bush2 as their president, but that’s another post altogether).

I don’t think its a fake home video, its just that the boy has reached that annoying stage where he is playing to an audience. Kids reach a stage where they figure out how to manipulate their parents, aunts, etc. by playing cute, etc….it just seems canned to me. And kids these days really ought to be taught (starting in the house) that they are to be largely seen and not heard. My big problem with the US is it has become unreservedly a nation of and for children, not adults. Its tiresome.
Seriously, that kid needs a swift kick to the head to shut him up. And he is clearly hamming it up, nothing about that reaction strikes me as genuine.
When I first saw this commercial (although, ENOUGH already!) I thought, that has GOT to be real because that kid was so friggin’ enthusiastic he couldn’t be faking it. The little girl is the one who seemed like she was getting p.o.’d because she wasn’t getting enough camera time so she got in on the action. Don’t you remember getting something that you really wanted? I wish I was a kid again and it was appropriate to scream like that! 😀

I must confess that I might have reacted much like the brat in the commercial if I had opened an X360 or a PS3 this year.
