Hobokenites line up for iPhone 4

6/29/2010:

Millions want the latest version of iPhone

Even though Apple’s newest iPhone 4 was released into the wild last week (at Apple stores and to those that had previously “pre-ordered” it), the mad rush continues for the rest of the tech-addicted community.

Today, AT&T began selling iPhone 4 units “off the shelf,” and people all over the country (including the AT&T store in Hoboken) lined up to get their hands on the latest version.

Hoboken411 reader Glenn sent this photo from Washington St. this morning – saying “I couldn’t help but capture the image of the extremely long line that was forming outside of AT&T at 8am when I was walking past the store. Thank goodness I ordered mine through the Apple Store app and I’ll just have to wait another week or so for it. Totally can’t wait!”

Despite many user complaining about signal strength and dropped calls, the iPhone is still a must-have device for most. AT&T said they improved the 3G network in the NYC area – has anyone in Hoboken noticed an improvement?

I don’t really have any problem with my AT&T service.

Are you sure those aren’t dopey tourists who thought they were on line for Carlo’s?

The iPhone is cool, but I refused to stay on AT&T, so I switched to Verizon. AT&T’s service blows.

My wife and I got 2 Droids for $200 and the combined plan was what it was costing me per month just for my Blackberry.

I don’t even turn my computer on much anymore, the Droid is so powerful I can browse any website without a problem.

Anyway, it’s an option.
