The square United States flag balloon is definitely a cool thing. But why so early in the morning? Most people don’t get to enjoy looking at it! And as elaintyger said “looks very similar to the other picture you had from last year.

Maybe they should consider limiting the balloon sponsors to yearly terms?

In the summer, hot air balloons usually only go up early in the morning or just before sunset. I believe that is because that is when the winds are generally slowest.

As well as being cooler temperatures, making for better lift of the hot air.
