HoBoooken Haunted House (2006)
11/1/2006:
A reader sent a few pictures in of the event, and his observations. His daughter definitely looked spooked! That evil monkey would probably scare me too.
“Got back a little while ago from the Haunted House at Demarest School. My grandmother taught there way back when.Took some pictures if you’d like to use them. We had a blast. They did a great job on the place. It was difficult taking pictures as my daughter and my friends child we’re holding on to me for dear life. You could see the look of sheer terror on my daughters face. we went back for seconds.”
“Bad part of the night were the hood rats. They don’t bother me much, being born and raised in Hoboken when I was thickens your skin a bit, but I can see it being intimidating to others. I really wanted to smack the shit out of a couple of youngens there. They give the locals a bad name. The disparity is plain to see now that many of the decent, hard working, middle class local families have been priced out of town. Without that demographic its now either post college party types sharing an apartment, the new upper crust familes now calling Hoboken home or the Section 8 factor. Kinda sad. I miss my town.
Just to clarify, I didn’t see any kids or teens on line or inside the Haunted House acting up much. A little rowdy but I kinda of expected that. It was on the periphery. It was harmless but getting close to the crossing the boarder. There were some police around and I feel that a good job was done to control the event.
Also, there didn’t appear to be many “new families” in attendance. Kinda shows the division in town.”

10/28/2006:
Hoboken Councilwoman Theresa Castellano, Councilman Michael Russo and the Michael Russo Civic Association wanted Hoboken411.com to tell you that they be presenting the Ho”boo”ken Haunted House at The Demarest School on Monday and Tuesday Oct 30th and Oct 31st from 7PM to 9PM. It’s open to the public and admittance is free.
See below for the rest of the pictures.
I guess the Anthony Russo Civic Association became the Michael Russo Civic Association when Anthony moved to the big house.
Yeah, its violent. Nice of them to do though. I won’t be there. The plastic jack o’lanterns in the supermarket are enough to scare my 3 year old.
Halloween is quite a violent holiday… No? Look at the second pic on this post.. says it all.
