Zero Tolerance Alcohol Consumption?

As many of you know – each St. Patrick’s Parade in Hoboken, the talk about public alcohol consumption and zero tolerance infractions come up. It’s a known fact that many attendees of the Movies Under the Stars event bring a blanket, picnic basket and alcohol (wine, beer, etc.) I spoke with Police Chief Anthony P. Falco about whether there will be any zero tolerance policies in effect for this summer event – and without getting specific – he quoted the law, and said that public consumption of alcohol is prohibited and subject to summons all year round. Whether the city enforces the policy or not this summer remains to be seen.

People drinking alcohol at movies under the stars is not even comparable to the absolute mess that is St Patricks day in this city. Having a beer or two as you eat your picnic dinner is completely acceptable (yet maybe not 100% legal being that you’re in public) People to not get blacked out drunk & disorderly by having a drink at the movie. I say just be discreet (brown bag) and act appropriately and HPD won’t have any reason to break it up/write citations.

Glad they’re not doing 3D. That was a big mess with Coraline last year. They only had enough glasses for half of the audience and a lot of arguing ensued after they took a vote and 3D won out over not-3D.

Anyone know what the “special premiere” is?

If it’s not The Cartel from Bob Bowdon, then you can bet it’s a very crappy movie made by some local. I’ll make other plans then…

This is a nice picture. I like the composition and the few vibrant flashes of color. The set-up of an event can more interesting than the event itself, in my opinion. Watching the Macy’s floats the night before Thanksgiving comes to mind…
