Piccininni Salumaria

Rumor has it that Piccininni Salumaria may be closing. Is this another doomed Hoboken business? As one reader put it: “Joe and the family are great and they will be missed. My opinion, the best italian deli in hoboken. I hope they didnt run out of money or have a lease issue.”

If it’s their choice, then I wish them good luck. If it was financial or real estate problems, then it’s just another sign our city is going down the drain.

Its sad that this family is fighting over money. This family used to be very close and loyal to one another until the money came along and they got greedy. It seems that money is more important to them than their own blood. The saying is true what comes around goes around. Money does not buy happiness.I feel bad for my cousin,Joey and what two of his uncles did to him out of spite. Let the truth be known, one of out of the three uncles does work and always has worked for a living and doesnt depend on the family money to live. Life is Beautyful! 😈

For the person who posted the comment about the owners living off the parent’s money they need to get there fact’s straight. After careful review of the company finiances it was reported that the Piccininni’s have managed to defraud the company & family out of over a million dollars. Including trips back and forth to Italy, cell phone’s for all of the kids and there boyfriends, flying the boyfriends back and forth from Italy, paying for schooling for the boyfriend’s, running up company charge card’s for shopping spree’s,renting out apartment’s for the kid’s and there boyfriend’s all being charged to the company. While the family and the legal department has tried to resolve this issue without it going public they were unable to do so thus, resulting in the Deli being closed. To date it is reported that the Piccininni’s have been ordered to payback certain expenses to the company/family. Sourses close to the family on both sides say that this issue has been going on for many years and that the family fully intends to set the record straight. For the side of the family that won the court battles congrats! You only did what’s right. The money that you are going after is rightfully yours and perhaps this will teach people that it is true what goes around does come back around.[/quote] HAHAHA!! Actually unknown source is about 95% correct in his/her version of events. The booze license was up for sale about a month ago for ballpark $250.000 which is a steal in this town! Last time I went there was in the 80’s, I prefer Biancamono or Vito’s.
