Rue du Jardin – Doomed?

12/18/2007:

Hoboken411 reader Kevin noticed this place was pretty much empty this week. Y’know? I had reviewed the place in the Summer, and it was pretty good. I just didn’t get around to processing it. Shucks. Do you think they’re moving up to Washington Street, or just finished?

“Rue de Jardin on 4th and Garden has closed. I think they were open as late as Thursday or Friday, but packed up and moved out over the weekend. Some of the booths were thrown away while anything worth saving was carted away by Sunday.

Yet another cafe. Is this place owned by Hugh Jardon?

Yes, and it was just a dessert place before Rue du Jardin came in. It was that name in the 2002-2003 Hoboken telephone book. So Rue du Jardin came sometime after that. I am grateful it will remain a dessert/coffee shop type of place on the park. That is the perfect type of business for that location.

Yes – 411, Hugh Jardon does/did own the place. He is off to bigger and better things (so I hear)

it’s true, it used to be a desert shop.
It seems the new owners are very “forward thinking”

hmmm. perhaps try a business there that hasn’t already failed at that location? 😐
