Hoboken Photo of the Day – 12/22/2009
As we already know, the folks at 12th and Hudson love the holidays, and proudly display their inflatable scenes accordingly.
In this case, Frosty the Snowman was part of their Christmas scene, and gleefully showed his happiness with the recent snowstorm. The 411 Mascot Oscar, on the other hand, wasn’t too impressed with the happy guy, asking “doesn’t get bored standing there all day? Jeez!”
PS – if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive – send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description – if desired!!
I thought no one would pick up on the cross as we approached the Christian holiday! Good job!
Got some good visuals coming soon and in the future – and lovin’ every minute!
That’s a perfect holiday card :).
Indeed, the innovative use of negative space, asymmetrical vanishing point with rays coming from it, the juxtaposition of the whimsical licensed character vis a vis the telephone pole in the shape of a cross on the horizon, and the unconditional love expressed by the dog. Wow 411!

chicken thrown in…
I will step back from the schtick just long enough to say this is a truly great photo, it really has a tremendous amount to offer. Truly a great image here H411.
Time’s up. Where’s my consarn bicycle horn and rubber chicken?
if Oscar could talk he would say the following “Dad, why do you have to photograph me in front of weird things? Why can’t you photograph me in front of a Ferrari or surround me with 100 girl dogs, maybe a picture of me on the beach in Cannes?”
