Thanks all around!

“Dear Friends of the Hoboken Boathouse:

In case you did not already hear, the 1st Annual Hoboken Boathouse Fundraiser was a huge success!

We could not have asked for more support from our event Sponsors and volunteers, and friends of the Boathouse. The event featured MC Soul Joel, Cap’n Mary of The Pirate Circus, and YOU. More than 150 of our closest friends packed the lounge and bar at Lua. Please visit our website for pictures and more from the event.

2009 Hoboken Boathouse Awards

Hoboken Boathouse Founder Sandy Sobanski, Treasurer Carter Craft, and President David Downs presented the first series of Hoboken Boathouse awards to friends and sponsors of the Boathouse: Downtown Boathouse, Freddie Moret, City of Hoboken Parks Department, Jerry Sova, Hoboken Boathouse Volunteer, Jim Doyle & Leah Healey, The Shannon, and the City of Hoboken!

NEW! Hoboken Boathouse Membership

During the Fundraiser on Sunday, Hoboken Boathouse also invited our friends to become Charter Members of the Hoboken Boathouse. Membership is $50, and provides special access to volunteer training, Hudson River Paddles, and much more for the 2010 season. Please email info@hobokencoveboathouse.org if you are interested in becoming a charter member, or purchase your membership today online via PayPal at our website.

Holiday Season, Donations & new Boathouse T-Shirts!

While it may be cold out on the Hudson River, we will be working this winter to plan for the upcoming 2010 season. The season typically begins in early-June, with volunteer training, and our first Free Kayaking Day programs. This holiday season, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Hoboken Boathouse to help sponsor Free Kayaking Days. In 2009, we helped nearly 1,000 participants paddle the Hudson River, many for the first time. We also sponsored several Hudson River paddle trips and pre-season volunteer training. Your end-of-the year 2009 donation will help to sustain these programs next year.

Our new t-shirts (designed by Volunteer Dean Pillion) also make great holiday gifts for friends and family. You can buy your t-shirt and make a donation today on our website.

What’s next?

Enjoy the upcoming holiday season, and we will be in touch in March 2010, with the Annual Hoboken Boathouse Meeting and announcements for the Summer 2010 season. Stay tuned!
