Hudson School Open House – October 17th
The community is cordially invited to attend an Open House at The Hudson School on Saturday, October 17 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Principals, guidance counselors, parents and prospective students are welcome to tour the school, located at Sixth Street and Park Avenue in Hoboken, and meet with administrators, teachers, parents and current students to get better acquainted with the school’s curriculum and co-curricular activities.
Founded in 1978 and fully accredited by the National Association of Colleges and Schools, The Hudson School is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. .The school offers intellectually curious and talented children in grades five through twelve a rigorous preparation for college. Beginning in fifth grade and continuing through twelfth grade, students are provided with in-depth study of mathematics, classic and modern foreign languages along with many courses in the humanities, sciences and the fine and performing arts. In addition, children may select from among a broad array of technology courses, AP courses and team sports; sign up for instrumental and choral music instruction and volunteer to perform community service. Students attend classes from 8:15 to 4:15 each day. An after-school program is also available until 5:30 p.m. The school maintains a need-blind acceptance policy. Generous financial aid is available for families who qualify.
Children who attend the school, which is co-educational, come from more than forty cities in New Jersey and New York as well as from several foreign countries. Their families value the commitment to high intellectual and ethical standards, the chance for students to develop personal relationship and long-lasting relationships with teachers and peers, and the leadership opportunities a small school can promote and encourage when every child’s voice counts.
