Brownstone Realty threatens 411
Here’s a Saturday afternoon doozy for y’all!
Realtor unhappy with negative comments
As you know, Hoboken411 is a community website, that lists most businesses plus their contact information, photos, occasional reviews and reader comments.
Most sensible businesses know they can’t please all the people all the time, and understand that some of the most dissatisfied customers may feel the need to express their feelings online for the rest of the community to read. Some businesses consider that “constructive criticism” and strive to improve their services. Others take it a step further – and actually come on here to interact with the online community (Turning Point for example). That is the ideal way to handle customer service issues, in my opinion.
There’s always one…
Then there is Brownstone Realty at 1200 Washington Street. I’ve never reviewed them, nor done any business with them. Just a basic business listing here on Hoboken411.
This past August, reader “asidor7” makes a comment about their unpleasant experience with Brownstone Realty. The next day, a person who apparently works for Brownstone Realty came on to respond to “asidor7” and address their complaints. A couple other user comments followed the next day, and the thread died down. Pretty much par for the course here on 411, right?
Fast forward to a month later, and the original commenter “asidor7” asks me to remove his review. I checked it out (for the first time actually), and felt that the interaction that transpired was perfectly acceptable – especially since the Realtor responded. No real reason to remove it. What’s the point for having comments?
Being the busy guy I am, I decided to mull over the decision on what to do. I really dislike removing any reviews, especially ones that are recent – AND have come full circle with a response from the particular business. (Although I have removed some old restaurant reviews in the past – especially if renovations take place, or new ownership comes, etc. – because they’re truly no longer relevant…)
Hoboken411 behind bars? WTF?
Today, I get an email from Skip – telling me he’s having me arrested tonight at 8pm – and his attorney will take further action on me next week. Funny thing is – I’ve never spoken with Skip – EVER (in person, via phone, via email)! How can I get charged with a crime? I just don’t get it.
Take a look at the Brownstone Realty posting here. How in God’s name is this inappropriate?
If I’ve somehow screwed up, and get carted off to the slammer tonight – please consider donating to Hoboken411 so I can make bail and begin my legal defense.
What would you do in this situation?
