Hobokenpix: Where are the cars?

[Continuing the ORIGINAL Hoboken411 “Photo of the Day” series…]

Hoboken Photo of the Day – 7/31/2009

I chose this picture today for a couple reasons:

  1. Anytime I see a Hoboken street completely empty, with no street cleaning, no parking regulations and on a weekend (this past Saturday) – I take a photo!
  2. I thought – is this where all the corrupt politicians used to park? Now they’ve run to the hills?
  3. Lastly, it represents my dream for a day off. Nothing to do – nothing in my way, nothing on my mind – just wide open. The past two Thursdays were supposed to be a “free” days for me (haven’t had one in months) – and of course, “NJ Corruption Calamity” broke out and everything has haywire since. This particular photo put me at ease for some reason – if only for a brief moment. Maybe between now and the November elections – we can take the month of August off from asinine Hoboken/Hudson Country news?

PS – if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive – send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description – if desired!!
