Readerpix: Street Fireworks

Hoboken411 reader Neel sent in this picture of some minor Fire Dept. activity uptown last night.

Does anyone mind that kids are launching amateur fireworks on city streets? Hey, even I did it as a kid!

Hoboken411 reader photo of the day – 7/6/2009

“I live across the street from the Wallace School on Willow Ave and just little bit ago there was a fireworks display from the playground. Shortly after, the Hoboken FD showed up and started to canvas the area. I’m assuming they were looking for remnants of the rockets that were shot off.”

[Stay tuned for tomorrow’s Readerpix entry! – Note: one reader’s photo(s) will be featured each day at approximately 11am. Unless your photo is time-sensitive – it will be published in the order it was received! Additional note: Your pictures will have a better chance of being published if they’re in “landscape” mode, as opposed to the taller “portrait” modes… ]

I used to play with them… until I read that story in the paper about the kid whose Roman Candle burst into his hand, blowing most of it off.
