The Hoboken Volunteer EMS (or HVAC) is your lifeline for survival in the Mile Square – so why not head on down to Willie McBride’s (616 Grand Street) tonight at 7pm?

Hoboken EMS will be selling mugs for $10 – which entitle you to $2 mugs of Yeungling or Miller Lite all night long! Wednesday is also Team Trivia Night and there will be prizes and other fun giveaways.

And at the same time – don’t forget that the HPD is having a community meet & greet at McBride’s as well. A civic service bonanza!

11/12/2009 Update:

Support the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Many of you may have received mailers from the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps. recently – indicating their need for your help to keep the 160-member free emergency medical service available to all residents. Sadly, several folks I’ve spoken with disregarded those requests, thinking it was just more junk mail. For those that did, please reconsider.

The HVAC responds to thousands of calls each year, and is your first line of defense in the case of an accident or sudden illness. Please print this PDF file, and make a donation!

Mail your donor card to: Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps. – PO Box 1368 – Hoboken, NJ 07030, or personally stop by their HQ at 707 Clinton Street. You’ll be hoping for a speedy response when you’re choking on that turkey bone this Thanksgiving!

great cauase – but total BS that they are allowed to double park and get drinks (as I witnessed last night) – even for good organizations and causes, there’s abuse.

Tonight is a good opportunity to donate to professionals who currently donate their services to save us. They serve our community well. Additionally, it good to interact with our police dept. for everyone safety. Now is the time to talk, compliment or complain!

They saved me and I always give a donation as a token of my thanks. They are very dedicated and well trained.

well said beej134, for all those criticizing us…all EMT’s in state of nj have the same training and same examinations. so we are all professionals, but some of us dont get paid and dont even mind it cause we just love helping people, if we had more volunteers we can get it fully staffed, such as wayne first aid squad, have u looked at them?! but ppl rather criticize than trying to help fix the problem. People dont need medical background to become an EMT, if you love helping other, that is your driving force, just take an EMT class part time nights and you can help others for free. (its called giving back to the community)

At a point in my late boyfriend’s life. He was on The Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corp. I always make a donation to them in his memory.
