Register to Vote!!


(Note – depending on the weather – this may actually take place on Sunday – stay tuned…)

Don’t be an idiot – exercise your right to vote!

In case you haven’t yet registered to vote- you might want to take a walk this windy Saturday!

Head down to the area near Garden of Eden (Washington between 2nd and 3rd Streets) – as Hoboken People for Open Governmentwill be out helping folks get up to speed. Even if you’re already registered – you can stop by and say hello, trade political nuggets or even volunteer!

In the Board of Education election on April 21, the top three vote-getters are elected. There is no runoff election.

Candidates in the May 12 Mayoral and Council-at-Large election must receive over 50% to get elected, otherwise the top two mayoral and top six council candidates compete in a runoff on June 9.

On June 2, party nominees for State Governor and Assembly (NJ’s equivalent of the US House of Representatives) are voted on, the winners of which go on to the general election in November


Can someone post a link on how the election process/run off process works in Hoboken?
