“You are invited to a Rally to Support the Kids First candidates for School Board: Theresa Minutillo, Maureen Sullivan and Ruth McAllister!

  • When: This Sunday, March 29, from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Where: Creative Groove Studio, 1200 Park Ave.
  • Fun: Refreshments and Snacks will be Served – Polka Dot the Clown to Perform at 3:30pm!

Please come out and meet the candidates and join in the fun!

Electing the entire Kids First ticket of Theresa Minutillo, Maureen Sullivan and Ruth McAllister in the April 21 Board of Education election guarantees a majority that will bring real leadership to our school board.

The Kids First Team will:

  • Require that all programs boost test scores, raise standards and maximize student achievement
  • Demand that the schools spend taxpayer money as carefully as we spend our own
  • Eliminate bureaucratic waste and give classrooms what they need
  • Attract and retain students by reaching out — and responding to community needs
  • Hold people accountable from the top down

We can’t make these important changes without your help. We need your vote on Election Day and we need your financial help so we can get the word out. Many of you have supported us and our ideas in the past and we urge you to make a donation now, in any amount, to help us achieve the goal of a fiscally responsible school board that fights for excellence in education.

If you cannot attend the Rally, please visit and find out more about how you can help our grassroots campaign.”

It’s time for a new majority school board. Last year less than 4000 people voted in the school board election. Every vote counts. Let’s get the majority board our students deserve. Go Kids First!!!

I never took the time to educate myself about the Hoboken Board of Ed until the HoLa! controversy, and I was shocked when I saw what was going on at the meetings. The disregard this Superintendent has for citizens who dare ask probing questions about the budget and other issues, coupled with a board whose majority has acted like little more than a deferrential rubber stamp, means that we as citizens are trusting this system not only with money that it hasn’t demonstrated that it needs, but also with kids who aren’t going to get a second crack at possibly getting a decent education in middle and high school, where the stakes are higher than ever. A change must be made, that’s why I’m voting for Kids First.

Picking a new mayor without cleaning up the Shool Board is like putting on clean clothes without taking a shower; you look nice, but you still stink. Let’s give these women a chance on the School Board (April 21st 2p – 9p) and then we can go after City Hall in May. In case there is any confusion, the $59 million School Board Budget ($31k/kid) is NOT part of the Hoboken fiscal budget of $124m, it is in addition to that budget, so these women will have a chance to make a difference we can all feel whether we have kids or not.
