Drunk Driver hits parked cars

Just overheard on the Hoboken411 Live Police and Fire Action Channel:

hoboken drunk driver garden street november 2 2008 - Drunk Driver hits parked cars

“Female drunk driver heading southbound from 2nd and Garden (plate VNJ-42Z) – hitting multiple parked cars along the way (Garden between 3rd and 4th). The caller only saw that block – and it’s possible this driver hit more in the area. She was driving on a blown out tire rim.”

Plates of struck vehicles:

A512263 (temp)
(one more plate on the way)

Viva la car insurance.

Give your complaints to the Public Safety Director who is in charge of the police and fire departments. Your safety should be his concern ❗

Rocker182 – time to grow up. You are exactly the type of idiots we are talking about. It’s NOT funny to have your car smashed in from a DUI and not to mention the potential danger to the public. Having to chase down insurance companies, get a rental, and fix your car etc is just not funny…

No I would not ban or lobby to ban alcohol from bars – what you will find is that when you grow up – you learn to drink responsibly and it’s not all about “was she cute” and trying to get smashed. Go back to your college or local town – lived in Hoboken my whole life and your two years here of puking on the streets is really getting old….
Yes, this town needs DUI checkpoints. I’ve seen this happen before. I saw one girl stumbling down my block one night and start to get in a car and I yelled at her from my window to stop. She closed the door and stumbled away. But the car was gone the next morning so who knows if she sobered up before leaving.
That’s awesome that you were able to stop her for at least a bit. Good job, and hopefully you deterred her until she sobered up.

This is the kind of immature kids who are coming here – after this destructive and potentially dangerous act – this moron says “was she hot”? Grow up please!
Then why not lobby to shut all the bars down and the banning of alcohol if this bothers you so much.some people need a sense of humor

im not sure how long you stuck around for, but I believe one of the comments by the police said something about the girl possibly being diabetic. just thought it was so weird to hear the police suggest that. looking back on some previous posters about the lack of checks/enforcement in hoboken, are the police turning a blind eye or something?
I did hang around til the end and in fairness to the officer, she was not at the scene of the arrest and without seeing the girl I think she didn’t want to jump to a conclusion as she said it had actually happened to her before where she thought the person was drunk but it was a diabetic incident. Keeping an open mind is good police work but for those of us who witnessed it, the girl was clearly drunk. Well, I at least HOPE that’s what the officer was thinking! What was a bit shocking was the officers they sent later on only took info on the damaged cars and no statement from witnesses. Though I guess they had a drunk suspect in custody, her damaged car, tire marks from the scene all the way to her arrest location and a 911 call which should be enough evidence.
hmmmm – i never thought about that, but if you’re diabetic and you haven’t eaten, you actually do seem drunk. i have a relative that doesn’t always take care of himself, and he’s forgotten where he was,… Read more »
