Ways to help the fire victims

Here’s another afternoon “tragic fire update” about Wednesday’s blaze at 1202 Hudson Street.

For one thing, I heard that officials are saying some “electrical problems” may have been the “cause” of the fire. However, the “word on the street” is that the fire started on the 4th floor – with people who set an oxygen tank ablaze when tinkering around with crystal meth. If this is the case, how can the corrupt Hudson County “officials” lie to the public like that? Who knows, since none of us were there – but I wouldn’t put it past these lying crooks.

Anyway – Want to donate something to help these poor folks?

Two ways you can help.

City “Drive for Fire Victims”

Accepting gift cards and regular moolah.(see image for details)

Second Ward Fire Victims Fund

Or, you can still donate to the existing fund Beth Mason set up earlier in the year for the 1203 Washington Fire. Hopefully this is the LAST time.

“Councilwoman Mason has also established a fund for the victims of the Washington Street fire. To make Donations to the Second Ward Fire Victims Fund either go to Wachovia Bank located at 2 14th Street, Hoboken or call 201 459 0909 – when prompted dial `0′ for Financial Services and ask for Rita Jersey or Diana Zaucha – they will help you with donations. Important: Tell them it’s for donations to the Second Ward Fire Victims Fund

As I mentioned in an earlier post….Please don’t donate clothes. Clothes need to be sorted, washed and go mostly undistributed. (What are the odds that a fire vittim will be yur exact size and need that exact item?)

Giving money and gift cards allows the victims to buy exactly what they need- work clothes, underwear, shoes.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
