Halloween Hoe Down!

10/2/2008:

In a little over three weeks (Saturday, October 25th – 7:30pm), head on down to the Our Lady of Grace Church (4th & Willow) to enjoy music, drinks games and even a Chinese auction!

Tickets are $20 in advance ($25 at the door) – get tickets at the OLG Rectory – or Bella Ro (521 Washington St.)

Halloween is the remnants of older pre-Christian traditions, one of which is the Celtic New Year. In Welsh it is called Nos Galan Gaeaf (Night of the new winter). Like a Jewish calendar the new day starts at sundown not sunup. This is also the celebration of the end of the harvest season.

And pumpkins were not carved in Europe, as it is plant from America.

Chinese Auction? Didn’t OLG get the memo?

Unless they are going to auction off Chinese people, maybe they should have advertised this as a “Tricky-Tray”, or even just an “Auction”.
