Hoboken Redwings Football 2008

Forgot to update their first win! (submitted by Hoboken411 reader)

“For your football update, I wish I could do more colorful play by play… but it was a blow out. HHS Red Wings crushed Marist 62 – 0. They had to employ the mercy rule after the first half at 55 – 0.

David Tyree was there on the field to cheer for the Red Wings. Congrats too to the Rockin Redwings Band, The Redwings Cheerleaders and the new HHS Dance Squad!!

No rain and a good hot dog! Perfect! – a loyal fan”

Their next game is this Saturday, visiting Lincoln High.

Just a minor correction.. David Tyree was not at the HHS game. It was Mathias Kiwanuka, #97 of the World Champion New York Giants. He is a local Hoboken resident and was very open and outgoing with all of the fans in attendance, actually staying behind just to sign autographs for everyone. The Hoboken High Redwings acquired their second straight win yesterday, defeating Jersy City giant Lincoln HS in a 42-12 upset. The offense, led by QB Ray Maldonado, trounced the Lincoln Lions with the running game. The defense, led by seniors Justin Rubio and Bernardo Nunez held the Lions back almost the entire game. The mercy rule again went into effect, allowing almost all of Hoboken’s players to get some playing time. The next game is home on friday Oct. 10 at 7pm against Snyder HS. Show your support by wearing your red and white and come out for a great night of football!!!

14th Street Dancer rocks….Go to youtube and watch HOBOKEN DANCE OFF. Good stuff.

I think the HHS Dance Squad should invite the 14th St dancer for a guest appearance. I bet the place would sell out!
