Elysian Park – light on the horizon
Elysian Park on the road to enlightenment
Considering the violent crime increase in Hoboken, this makes sense.
However, with the multi-million dollar surplus the city has – they still bond ordinary expenditures in Hoboken. Just like buying on credit – you (the property taxpayer) will have a bill come due eventually! Just kicking the can down the road…
And you’re going to cut what out of the budget?
Elysian Park is practically pitch black again. With only two lamps working in the entire park – seems like we have a replay of what happened back in 2008 – where the park was “blacked out” for many summer nights.
One last picture to show you what Elysian Park is supposed to look like at night. A few more lamps need attention, and the lighting job will be complete.
The dog run is next on the list, WE HOPE.
This, on top of the almost dozen lamps that were completely out of service, possibly endangering residents that used the park after dark.
Well, looks like there’s light at the end of the tunnel, as electricians have been at the park for the past three days attempting to solve the park blackout.
Workers on the scene said that there was a short in one or more of the lamps that caused the problem, and that they had to go through a “trial and error” methodology to determine the exact location of the wiring problem.
At this time, it seems MOST of the lamps are back working, with the exception of a couple, which may require additional parts (such as ballasts, etc.)
Way to go!
