Dangerous Conditions in Hoboken

Here’s a reminder that Hoboken411 has a new “dangerous conditions” category, which was created and inspired by the Maxwell’s sidewalk skateboard ramp that recently injured a Hoboken resident.

hoboken dangerous conditions - Dangerous Conditions in Hoboken

Whether it’s a giant pothole that can potential damage vehicles or cause a pedestrian “slip & fall,” to unruly garbage and disgusting food waste, this is the section you’ll find it.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve tried to contact the owner, management company or even city hall about your complaints, you can anonymously send your photos and concerns to Hoboken411@gmail.com, and I’ll do my best to publicize for all to see.

The more eyes and ears we have out there, the better chance we all have!

5th street by the little league field. There are no signs or other reflective markings indicating the sudden sharp turn in the roadway. A car crashed through the wall one night about 10 years ago and it still hasn’t been fixed. The few stones left there are not sufficient to stop a car from going right over the edge again. If you don’t know what’s there, it can be tough to see at night. Combine that with the BAC of many of the nighttime drivers in Hoboken and it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Watch out for the stone slab at the park’s corner sidewalk on 4th and Hudson. that little bugger rocks back and forth as you step on it.

PS – don’t these complaints need to be filed w/ the city/state in order for anyone injured to have a legitimate claim?

If someone is injured outside an apartment building but it’s due to a crack in a sidewalk who is responsible? The management company or the city?
