Monroe Center sluggish progress

8/13/2008:

Not sure about you, but I think the Monroe Center in Hoboken wins the gold medal in the “slowest progressing project ever” contest.

Regardless if they’re trying to sell the place, it seems every modification, new business, or adjustment at this location either takes forever, or it never happens (along with empty promises or misrepresentation).

FYI, as an update to the recent Mario Michele Studio and Pleasant Road Spa articles, I was told last week that they should be opening up soon, possibly even this month!

However, there has been some extremely slow-moving action taking place this year in between two of the buildings along Monroe Street. Perhaps even in this decade, there might even be a nice outdoor retail plaza eventually. “One brick at a time, my friend, one brick.”

I agree 100% with, “every modification, new business, or adjustment at this location either takes forever, or it never happens (along with empty promises or misrepresentation)”

I’ve been trying to get my deposit back since April, 2008. I called, emailed, and even went to small claims court.

I won by default because they did not appear at the trial, and they still insist on telling me, “the check is in the mail.”
Gold should go to the $20 million dollar fetus known as Pier C Park. Of course this fetus has had an almost ten year gestation period. It should get the nod over Monroe.
And also, this baby will be delivered premature, as in when Dave Roberts is out cutting the ribbon, it won’t be fully developed to the point of the original plans we were sold.

Hoboken 411 – Monroe only deserves the silver medal in the Slowboken Building awards. Gold should go to the $20 million dollar fetus known as Pier C Park. Of course this fetus has had an almost ten year gestation period. It should get the nod over Monroe.

Fyi – The entire Monroe Center site is currently for sale as well as the underlying note. Why put any money into now…
