One reason to look at news

We’ve mentioned the “avoid news” thought process many times in the past. But wanted to add a crucial caveat to that.

When we say “avoid news,” that is meant to not take “news” (fake or real) as ultimate fact or authority. It is not your periscope to see actual events. Nor should it dictate your actions or your happiness (unless an impending molten lava flow is coming your way).

But “news” (fake or real) should still be observed regularly – to see how society is being moved and shaped. You don’t necessarily need to know all the precise details or follow intently. More to get a holistic feel for general trends, to witness seismic societal shifts.

The “actors” and “events” are just part of the show. You need to see the big picture in order to know what’s coming in the future.
