Another main, another dollar…

Another main, another dollar in Hoboken {endless}

Yep, another water main break earlier this morning. Mind-numbing.

Hoboken water main break january 4 2016 2 - Another main, another dollar...The reason we stopped chronicling each and every break – was that it was the same exact story every time. Poor pipes, inept mayor, talking points, estimated time for repair, number of residents affected. Those that were impacted did not need news updates. They had no water. It was self-explanatory and par for the course. (Note – we NEVER drink Hoboken tap water – so it does NOT matter to us.) But it became monotonous and repetitive to the point where all we can muster up was a shrug.

But local channel 4 news just ran a story on Hoboken with Brian Thompson reporting about our first water main break of the year. There were at least 20 last year – most likely more if you count the small connections to individual buildings.

“mayor” don Zimmer sheepishly said: “I want to make sure that we have an agreement that’s fair to the people of Hoboken and offers the most investments each year as possible.”

But Thompson said NBC investigated and found Hoboken had 20+ water main breaks last year. He also said Hoboken owns the pipes so it’s the City’s job to fix them. He interviewed Zimmer for a few seconds and of course she’s “acting” as though she’s not to blame. Her quote is laughable. She said she’s been negotiating with Suez?

She’s been Mayor for almost EIGHT YEARS and she still can’t fix the pipes. JEEZUS!

Hoboken water main break january 4 2016 1 - Another main, another dollar...What has she been doing with the $300,000 she gets every year from Suez?

Not to mention – over a year ago – she boldly emphasized the “termination clause” Hoboken had with Suez, and that “She’s not afraid to use it to get a better deal with Suez!”

Hmm – being “mayor” for that many years – it’s CLEARLY EVIDENT that she’s 100% afraid to use. Unless, of course – she’s saving it for yet another bid for four more years of ineptitude for the city of Hoboken. That’s how these sleazy politicians roll…

So the 2.1 million is sitting in surplus with no work being done for seven years? The residents of the City need to “negotiate” a new Mayor.

2.1 million sounds yummy. I’m sure she can think of better uses than helping the residents of Hoboken. That’s what good accountants are for!

She’s not afraid to terminate? If it is anything like the Housing Authority termination, Hoboken is going to be in a massive financial hole between the two lawsuits.

We’ll have 10 water main breaks by St. Patrick’s Day. Probably one ON St. Paddy’s! Comes with free urine and vomit bonuses on top of the sewage and dead animals.
