Eneloop Batteries – the King is back
Eneloop Batteries – A must have for everyone
Before the past holiday season, we posted a story about Practical Christmas gifts (energy-related).
In that post we chimed in about rechargeable batteries – and how they’re a no-brainer when it comes to saving money instead of wasting it on “disposable” alkaline batteries available everywhere.
I mentioned that the Panasonic Eneloop batteries had let me down, and that the cost wasn’t justified, and that there were cheaper options out there.
I was wrong.
The latest generation of Panasonic Eneloop Pro Batteries – (along with their cheaper “twins,” the Amazon Basics High-Capacity Rechargeable Batteries) are once again king of the hill.
Just make sure you get the BLACK ones.
What went wrong?
Well, those “cheaper” batteries, while substantially less costly up-front, ended up being money down the drain.
For one, a good portion of them just stopped working. Dead. Garbage.
Two, their advertised power was much less – and they didn’t last nearly as long.
And since Panasonic bought Sanyo – the latest version (the “Pro” version) is by far the best (and only) ones that should be considered.
Note: The AmazonBasics High-Capacity version are the same as Panasonic, just re-branded – and substantially less expensive (by almost a third).
So for all your devices (remotes, cameras, game controllers, mice, keyboards, toys, whatever else) these are without a doubt your best choices:
(Note: that the previous versions of Eneloop batteries have a higher “recharge count,” (~2000 times vs. ~500 times) keep in mind that they normally suffer way before that quantity).
I had to learn the hard way, but time also played a factor – because some of the earlier Eneloops disappointed others as well.
But they’re back on track again and go highly recommended!
Save money today and stock up on a good battery recharger and a good supply of Eneloop batteries!
