Carmelo Garcia: Deal or Steal?
Well, well – it seems as if there’s some trouble over at the ongoing saga called 711 Bloomfield Street.
Apparently the digging out of the basement has caused structural issues – and now is endangering the structural soundness of the building next door at 713 Bloom. The road is currently shut down for emergency repairs.
One reader was unsure whether Carmelo Garcia had proper permits or zoning for this modification – and mentioned that Al Arezzo was there all morning – and may issue a stop work order.
A Hoboken411 reader sent this note in about their observation this morning. What is your assessment of this situation?
What is Carmelo Garcia up to?
“Recently elected Board of Education member Carmelo Garcia bought a huge four-story home at 711 Bloomfield St for JUST $400,000 (avg price $900,000) on April 7th from a former city employee who some say is mentally incapcitated… Deal or Steal?
This morning at 9:15 am Carmelo stops by his home I assume to check on his workers by 9:45 am his worker-guy in the dodger jersey #18 (no work permits, no trash container) loaded lumber and furniture into the street…. when i passed by at 10 am.. a cop said he was calling the city inspector but an hour later a city truck came by and carted it away… (note:blue spray painted curb? handicapped space? no signs?)
ps. isn’t it interesting that his wife’s name isn’t on the tax roll with him?”
