Breaking the Ice exhibit opens this week in Hoboken

Looking for something a bit different to do in Hoboken? Then head over to the Mason Civic League (12th & Washington) to check out the Breaking the Ice photo exhibit. It’s about the sport of synchronized skating in case you couldn’t figure it out.

“This photographic exhibit is an introduction Synchronized Skating, one of the few large winter team sports. The newest discipline of figure skating, synchronized skating is a fast-growing team sport where up to 20 skaters preform together. The exhibition is the first of its kind and is a sampling of photographs taken at the recent US Figure Skating Association National Synchronized Skating Championships.

The competition took place in Kalamazoo, Michigan just last month in March. Opening night coincides with the start of the World Championships taking place in Budapest, Hungry, where Team USA 1, Haydenettes and Team USA 2, Miami University will compete on the world stage.”

The opening reception is tomorrow, April 14th from 7 to 9pm.

The gallery will be open to the public through May 31st (M-F 2-8pm and Sat-Sun 12-5pm).
