Hoboken H.S. teacher to visit Germany
Yay! Part One of “Good News Monday” reports on Hoboken411:
Ms. Grygiel to attend German/American Journalist/Educator Exchange Program
“Hoboken High School teacher Rachel Grygiel has been selected by the Radio and Television News Directors Foundation to visit Germany and Belgium in June as part of the German/American Journalist/Educator Exchange Program. Over the last two years, German journalists on the exchange program have visited Ms Grygiel’s classes to discuss the similarities and differences between the two countries. The social studies students have greatly benefited from the frank discussions about politics, culture and education.
Before joining the Red Wings family, Ms Grygiel worked with ABCNEWS Nightline and recently has been working with students preserving the stories of Hoboken’s World War II vets in conjunction with the Library of Congress’ Veterans Project.
On the fellowship program, Ms. Grygiel will attend briefings with top-level German political, business and media figures in Berlin, Frankfurt and Leipzig, along with meetings at the European Union and NATO in Brussels, Belgium. When she returns she plans to share these experiences with her students and further develop her lessons on World War II and the Cold War. We wish her Viel Glück! – or good luck — on her trip!”
