Hoboken City Council Meeting of October 21, 2015

A few items of note for tonight’s meeting:

  • Some members of the council “minority” are trying to actually represent the residents reamed by the so-called “reval,” by ensuring “equalization” between properties – not the huge disparity you (still) see today. Watch pro-administration bobble-heads read carefully scripted and rehearsed responses in opposition to this noble cause.
  • Another minority council member is seeking to reduce the city’s debt by 15% (by nearly $19 million dollars). Seems as if the administration has “spent” $1.1 million dollars inappropriately. Property taxpayers do not like when their money is spent inappropriately! Whoops!
  • They want to spend some money for a “community forestry management plan.” What forest?

Good, I hope someone collected the trail of evidence on the 2M is capital misspending due to the parks equipment and misc unapproved park changes. If not there is another 2M.

The entire set of mature trees in the City that every Mayor before Zimmer took care of and now they want to either remove or suddenly become concerned about when complaints have been heavy regarding their ignoring the trees and the end result of 4,000 people without electricity because limbs have not been trimmed. Adding insult to injury PS&G to save their wires and are not in the business of tree trimming butchered our trees using a life endangering method called “topping”.
