This tree had it coming
Dangerous tree removed from Stevens Park in Hoboken
Seems like most trees the city has removed in town are usually perfectly okay. I still don’t understand that worthless classification calling Hoboken a Tree City. How can a densely populated urban area ever be called that?
Whatever. One out of a hundred times, they do actually take down a dangerous tree. This one on the corner of 4th & Hudson recently dropped a very heavy branch and was just sick. Good job taking care of it before someone was crushed to death.
But they missed some others – as later that day winds toppled another sick tree into a major powerline elsewhere in town, and thousands lost power temporarily. Whoops!
Conceived and launched in 2006, the original Hoboken Photo of the Day category contains thousands of pictures and includes many other subsections, including Drunk Bread Crumbs, HDR Photography, Hoboken Digital Art, and more.
We feel that by photo-documenting the city of Hoboken season after season, “a picture is worth 1000 words,” and can tell a myriad of stories encompassing the good, bad and the ugly contained within the mile-square. Our constantly-evolving way of maintaining a historical archive of memories and sights.
