Hoboken City Council Meeting 10/7/2015
Hoboken City Council Meeting of October 7, 2015
A few items of note for tonight’s meeting:
- Breast Cancer and Dwarfism Awareness. Holy crap! (See below for this week’s rant!)
- A new fire truck ($600k)
- The usual millions for lawyers.
But looking at how “involved” this city has become (and many like it), you have to wonder why more people aren’t standing up and saying “enough is enough!”
The initial concept of a governing body was supposed to be as minimal as possible (and for the lowest cost). The bare essentials (fire, police, adequate roads). Everything else was supposed to be private enterprise and open market.
Your property tax dollars being wasted on midget awareness? WTF is that?
You think they’d ever have “Property Taxpayer Fleecing Awareness Month?”
The bigger your local government gets, the more money they’ll need and spend. For useless shit like bike lanes and their platinum health insurance. If you don’t see how wrong that is, well there is no helping you.

Oh, and how about their Hurricane Joaquin fail? The storm is long gone – yet it’s still a major headline on the city site. How do you know they were “prepared?” Because they told you so? How “prepared” were they for countless other storms, blizzards in the past? Not a good track record.
