Hoboken High School Ranking

NJ Monthly Magazine recently published their biennial ranking of high schools in the state.

hoboken high school ranked 260 by nj monthly magazinel - Hoboken High School Ranking

Hoboken High School was in the bottom 18% of all schools ranked (260 out 316 total.) With one of the highest per-pupil costs around, perhaps this information will help you choose who should be on our Board of Education (election is this Tuesday.)

Candidate Ron Rosenberg also noted that “some good schools are excluded from the study (like the county schools in Hackensack and Hudson county schools). If they were in, Hoboken would rank even lower.”

I say “think positive!” We ranked higher than Camden, Irvington, Asbury Park, Passaic and Perth Amboy! Rock on!

If the school wants PR, have the journalism class or something do it. Whoever heard of a PUBLIC school paying for PR?!

Unfortunately, those kids grow up to be city workers!
why would a public school need a PR firm? to attract students who otherwise would go to a different public school? these people are criminals.
Maybe they need a PR firm b/c they want to brag about how much money they are wasting? What is really disgusting is they could buy each kid in the school 3-4 paperback books to read for the amount of money they are WASTING on a PR firm. Whoever thought it was a good idea to hire a PR firm must have gotten dropped on his head a few times as a toddler b/c this is just plain dumb. How many more dumb cotracts are there out there? How much does the city also waste on PR firms? How much money is bled out of the town’s coffers paying consultants/contractors that get paid to do nothing? I bet the city has its PR firm on H411 planting favorable postings………..and charges the city a couple hundred $s a day to do so……ha ha

They need PR people to continue running their union-based machines of getting as much money as possible for as little work done by people who can in some cases barely read and write themselves. The PR people are to scare people away from real change like charter schools, which threaten their fiefdoms.

There are of course some brave souls teaching in these broken schools who are qualified and in it for for the right reasons. But the system will squeeze them out or transform them soon enough.
