Truth in shadows?
Light trickery in Hoboken
Noticed the way the sun was hitting 7 Stars Pizzeria the other day, and like the affect it had on the logo.
However, it got me thinking – “7 Stars” all of a sudden became “0 Stars.” See what happens when you shine the light on things?
Flashback to the early 1980’s
And just for a little historical reference – Hoboken411 reader Roger found this vintage photo of 4th & Garden from back in the early 80’s when this location was the “Garden Luncheonette.”
That strange thing you see in front of the eatery was something called “hanging out” and “socializing with others in person.”
That is where “status updates” and “text chats” evolved from, in case you can’t quite connect the dots.
Conceived and launched in 2006, the original Hoboken Photo of the Day category contains thousands of pictures and includes many other subsections, including Drunk Bread Crumbs, HDR Photography, Hoboken Digital Art, and more.
We feel that by photo-documenting the city of Hoboken season after season, “a picture is worth 1000 words,” and can tell a myriad of stories encompassing the good, bad and the ugly contained within the mile-square. Our constantly-evolving way of maintaining a historical archive of memories and sights.
