In memorium: Lisa Backer
Sad news about the unexpected death of a well-known Hoboken resident this month.
Technology program manager, of Hoboken
Lisa Backer of Hoboken died unexpectedly at her home on March 17, 2008. A private family ceremony was held on March 26 at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, where she was laid to rest. Arrangements were under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Lisa was born on June 18, 1962, and raised in Fairfield. She graduated from West Essex Senior High School and then attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., where she received an honors degree in English/political science. Lisa moved to Hoboken, where she worked for Bankers Trust as a trust administrator for six years and then was employed by JPMorgan Chase Bank in Brooklyn as vice president/technology program manager. She is survived by her parents, Otto and Mary, formerly of Fairfield, now residing in Absecon, and two sisters, Carol Backer, also of Absecon, and Linda Backer of Lake Hopatcong. Because of the love for her late companion Tiki, donations may be made in Lisa’s memory to the ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd St., N.Y., N.Y. 10128-9804.
