Sinatra Drive “amenities”

Are Sinatra Drive “amenities” necessary in Hoboken?

For the most part, the Sinatra Drive walkway in Hoboken is pretty darn good as it is. However, the city has been talking about updating the whole eastern section of town.

They’re suggesting all sorts of progressive add-ons, like bike paths, speed bumps, and even completely closing and re-routing a whole stretch of vehicular roadway. But this raises some important questions:

 • Isn’t the walkway fine the way it is? Why the restlessness for “change?”
 • Aren’t there more pressing matters in Hoboken?
 • This will prove to be quite costly for future administrations. Because of the proximity to the water – any fancy “upgrade” to the waterfront, will also come with a MUCH BIGGER REPAIR BILL when (not if) the area is breached by a wall of polluted water.

So maybe it would be in the best interest of the property tax-payers in Hoboken to keep things as low-maintenance as possible. Just sayin’.

Referring to the fact that building is for feather in the cap development and standards and such things as actual completion or satisfaction have little meaning.

The portions collapsing into the Hudson River aren’t “pretty darn good as it is”.

I thought they already fixed the collapsing sections a long time ago. We were able to walk the entire length of the waterfront yesterday. What city are you referring to?
The portions collapsing into the Hudson River aren’t “pretty darn good as it is”.
