Dust bowl Hoboken
“Progress” comes with drawbacks: Dusty conditions!
Was walking through Church Square Park the other day – and boy, the road work taking place all over the city certainly comes with bag of unpleasantness. Besides the impact on parking and traffic – the work also affects ordinary pedestrians and park dwellers.
The dust they were kicking up was unavoidable – and everyone in the vicinity got either a mouthful of dust – or it ended up irritating your eyes. I can only wonder how toxic that dust was. Certainly wasn’t “certified organic.”
Can’t the wet the dirt down to avoid these conditions?
Conceived and launched in 2006, the original Hoboken Photo of the Day category contains thousands of pictures and includes many other subsections, including Drunk Bread Crumbs, HDR Photography, Hoboken Digital Art, and more.
We feel that by photo-documenting the city of Hoboken season after season, “a picture is worth 1000 words,” and can tell a myriad of stories encompassing the good, bad and the ugly contained within the mile-square. Our constantly-evolving way of maintaining a historical archive of memories and sights.
