How about being left on the “floating barge” because NY Waterway uses that very small boat (instead of the double deck large boats) during the morning rush hours to Pier 11/Wall Street. That really bites. 👿 😈

my old company used to pay for our ferry, i took it for granted for so many years. now my company pays for a limo service if you work past seven so i usually suck it up and wait it out rather than deal with the path nightmare. once a day is enough for me.

horrible way to start your day. 😐

I’ve been taking the Pier 11 ferry for over a year, and I’ve only noticed the upper deck closed a couple of times. It was open all summer last summer so you could go upstairs our outside.

Yes they are out of their minds. I used to take the ferry from South to World Financial Center. When the bumped the ticket price $3.50 to $4.00 I ate it, however, when they bumped it up to $4.50 a few months later I decided to quit it. They claim fuel costs and no subsidization. $9.00 for a round trip. Yeah right. Those boats at rush hour are completely packed, they are pulling in revenue out the ying yang. It is obvious to me they have no ability to manage their own expenses if they still can’t get ends to meet. Additionally, they run one boat during the nonpeak hours which still have a fair amount of traffic.

Personally my opinion is that I hope they go out of business as they continue to increase prices and lose riders. As a former loyal customer, it was great during the warmer months to sit on top and enjoy the brief ride. Oh well, I will endure the “uncivilized commute” on the PATH and pocket an extra $6 dollars each day.
