Fall 2014 Hoboken Arts & Music Festival

Fall 2014 Hoboken Arts & Music Festival: Sunday, September 28th

Hoboken Arts Music Festival 2014The second of two annual Hoboken Arts & Music Festivals in 2014 takes place on Washington Street between Observer Highway and 7th Streets this Sunday, September 28th.

If the weather holds out, you can heads down on phone wander around the streets from 11am to 6pm to see countless of (mostly) out-of-town vendors selling food, artwork, and myriad of other trinkets and tchotchkes.

Big sellers are typically the zeppoles and fried crab cakes – and of course Cake Boss oglers will be around too. Three music stages also set up. The main stage is south of the CVS downtown, a kiddie stage at 3rd Street, and a secondary stage at the north end of the festival between 6th and 7th Streets. Hopefully for festival-goers, the turnout will be high, otherwise, it’ll be a giant bust. This is a rain or shine event.

Some of this year’s featured musical acts include:

Local Hoboken Singer Maddy Bowes

Lucky for you, one particular act stands out from the rest this year – and that is Maddy Bowes. She kicks off the 7th Street stage at 12:30pm, so that gives you incentive to arrive (and leave) early before the mad rush.

“Maddy Bowes, a fresh faced 16 year old out of Hoboken NJ, debuts with self-composed, musically addictive breakout songs that smash the heart.”

Her singing reel is below. Perhaps she’ll be a nationally recognized singer one day?

I remember when they actually had bands that would draw a crowd that were well known in the music industry. Not acts that people never heard of. The entertainment at the festival has gone to $h!t.

I’ll be showcasing my new “Aloha” series of Hawaiian themed limited edition hand cut screen prints and also exhibiting the remaining prints from my “Mile Square” series. Not sure where my spot will be located, but it will be a corner space. To view my work, for more information and to find out my location the day of the festival visit http://www.RicardoRoig.com. See you there!
