Glove on Clam Broth House hand!

2/15/2008 Update:

Somebody blinked

Danny Tattoli and Michael Acciardi have apparently come to an agreement over the disputed Clam Broth House liquor license. Acciardi, who owns Lana Lounge and Teak, has apparently agreed to sell the license that had been tied to the old Clam Broth House to Tattoli, who wants to open a “family restaurant” in his new building. Word on the street was Acciardi wanted to operate the new Clam Broth House much same way he operated the old Clam Broth, in conjuction with Boo Boo’s and the Cadillac Bar. Tattoli didn’t want that, and insisted Acciardi sell him the liquor license.

No matter what happens with the liquor license, nobody will mistake the new “Clam Broth Corporate Center” for the original Clam Broth House, which thanks to years of neglect, is now nothing but a faint memory.

2/13/2008:

The pissing match between Tattoli and Acciardi continues ahead of tomorrow night’s meeting on the Clam Broth House liquor license.

The Cage owners aren’t homophobic…they’ll operate the only gay bar in Hoboken 365 days in 2008.

I checked out the Clam Broth House Hand today. It is covered with a glove! Since Mike Acciardi sold the license to Tattoli I betcha he didn’t want his future competitor’s sign advertising on top of his own restuarant/bar. I guess Tattoli has to put it on the roof of his Disneyland Haunted House. Or maybe one morning we’ll find the “wind” blew it over onto the street.

The Hennessy’s sign will go back up again (as it does every year) when Hoboken celebrates St. Patrick’s day, the homophobic owners wishing to cash in on this annual drunk-fest and believing that the rainbow flag and “Cage” name will keep the binge drinkers and their bucks away.

You should change your name to FriedUPTIGHT.
I’m sorry. Perhaps I misunderstood the comment. I get the joke. I mean, if you are implying that a glove, perhaps latex, pointing to the gay bar has something to do with not touching gay people because you might “get something” then I guess I get the joke. That was it, right? Uptight, no. I can take a joke. Been taking gay jokes all my life and honestly, doesn’t bother me a bit. Seiously. I made a joke too when I called you a “homophobic pig.” I doubt that you are. Probably some of your best friends are gay, and that’s cool. It was just a joke. Maybe you can change your name to Easy. More of a safe-sex oriented use of a latex glove. Whatever, it was off the cuff comment. And yes I do have some gay friends, one of whom said that place is kinda creepy. In which case, he might agree with my comment for several reasons, including both that were mentioned. Sorry, don’t get dropping the E, but in either case, I am always E, but not always easy, perhaps Just-E, would be better. :P
Maybe I’m… Read more »
