HPU Hypocrisy of the Day – 6/16/2014

Hoboken HPU Hypocrisy of the Day – June 16, 2014

Continuing the “HPU Hypocrisy of the Day” category, today we’ll once again document what happens multiple times a day. The city doing the very same things that they’d STEAL from others for doing the same.

Here, an HPU (Hoboken Pickpocketing Underworld) van blatantly parks in a yellow zone near the intersection of 2nd & Washington.

Resident Dave who sent this in said: “Yellow paint must mean HPU only!”

$100 says that if Zimmer had to pay for each city violation out of her own bloated salary (with white-glove health insurance), these acts of hypocrisy would stop yesterday.

About Hoboken HPU Hypocrisy of the Day
The HPU Hypocrisy of the Day is a photo feature on Hoboken411.com.

Created out of need – this section features the blatant hypocrisy in the Hoboken city government. Get this – Parking “laws” were created under the guise that it is either for “safety of residents, drivers and pedestrians,” or to “make parking more fair for law abiding citizens.”

The city, however – VIOLATES those very same laws. The bottom line is THEY DON’T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT SAFETY. They just want your MONEY.

You frustrated with the hypocrisy? Caught them on film? Simply email Hoboken411@gmail.com with your photo, location and sorry story!

Would be more interesting to hear weekly parking tales from municipal court.

Unless they’re physically blocking a hydrant/crosswalk, or failing to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk, these HPU vehicles aren’t committing the sort of major infractions that deserve news stories. Parks dept vehicles tooling around on the sidewalks seems excessive at times, too.

City employees with jobs that require utility vehicles and frequent stops can’t be accommodated by creating reserved parking spots on every block. Maybe they could do with smaller carts, but they still need to park somewhere…
