Hoboken HPU Hypocrisy of the Day – June 6, 2014

HPU Hypocrisy and incompetence in Hoboken NJ - HPU Hypocrisy of the Day - 6/6/2014Continuing the “HPU Hypocrisy of the Day” category, today’s entry is more “idiocracy” (or just plain incompetence).

One Hoboken resident on 10th Street noticed a big “job,” where the HPU painted handicapped stripes and ripped up the sidewalk to install handicap parking signs.

Only to remove all of it and re-locate it somewhere else.

“After coming home from work, I saw that the blue lines had been painted black and the sign posts removed with patch work done in the sidewalk. Less than a week! I guess they put the spot in the wrong place! Time wasted, money wasted and paint wasted. I suspect the resident who had requested the spot was also inconvenienced as these are usually placed near their residence.”

“While this may be a small thing, it smacks of the incompetence and mismanagement of the HPU.”

About Hoboken HPU Hypocrisy of the Day
The HPU Hypocrisy of the Day is a photo feature on Hoboken411.com.

Created out of need – this section features the blatant hypocrisy in the Hoboken city government. Get this – Parking “laws” were created under the guise that it is either for “safety of residents, drivers and pedestrians,” or to “make parking more fair for law abiding citizens.”

The city, however – VIOLATES those very same laws. The bottom line is THEY DON’T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT SAFETY. They just want your MONEY.

You frustrated with the hypocrisy? Caught them on film? Simply email Hoboken411@gmail.com with your photo, location and sorry story!

Not HPU but classic city bungling….on the west side of Willow around 7th or 8th there’s a tree that I suppose was intended to replace one cut down…burlap balled roots…right from the nursery . Anyway the tree’s been just lying there for a few days now, getting dryer and deader by the minute. Did someone forget to plant it? Or was it too close to quitting time before a long weekend?

Anyway that’s what it looked like. Anyone else have a theory?
