Hoboken Weekend Ideas
Weekend ideas in Hoboken, NJ
With the recent drenching weather we’ve been having – it’s possible that some of you have laid low, and might be getting a bit stir-crazy. So when the weather clears later this weekend – what plans do you have?
Below are a few suggestions for you:
Maifest at Pilsener Haus
Did you know that all during May is “Maifest” over at the Pilsener Haus & Biergarten uptown? The annual celebration brings forward a few unique and interesting items of note – including the fresh-tapped Maibock beer – and Chef Thomas’ new spring menu. They’re always keeping things flowing up there, right?
A good start would be Saturday Brunch which kicks off at noon tomorrow, along with the Bavarski Polka Band.
Sangria Sundays at Mikie Squared
If you’re more the low-key, “neighborhood bar” type – then why not pay a visit to Mikie Squared on Sunday? This friendly, unpretentious establishment is known for their $10 pitchers of Sangria each week – available in new flavors such as Blue-Razz, Mango or Guava.
A nice way to numb the brain-rattling thought of another work week waiting to begin on Monday…
Lights, Camera, Science!
If the booze or bar environment is something you’re cutting back on – then grab the little ones and head over to Liberty Science Center in Jersey City.
The big exhibit now is about the Rubik’s Cube. A good way to educate kids about things that don’t have to involve a tablet computer.
And if you can’t make it this weekend – stay tuned for the anticipated Clifford the Big Red Dog exhibit, which opens on May 24th:
“Adventures with Clifford The Big Red Dog transports visitors to Birdwell Island. Young guests engage in rich educational content that reinforces “Clifford’s Big Ideas” – ten simple, tangible life lessons that help children navigate their world, such as Share, Play Fair, and Be Truthful.”
Have fun regardless!
