Two Chicks and a Cellist this Sunday

    March

    3/16/2010:

    Chamber Music in Hoboken

“Two Chicks and a ‘Cellist,” an ensemble in residence at The Hudson School, present a family chamber music concert on Sunday, March 21, at 3 PM and at 5 PM at The Hudson School, 601 Park Avenue, Hoboken, NJ. The concert, entitled “Bring Your Own Beethoven!,” will include Beethoven’s “Ghost Trio,” and duos for violin and piano, and ‘cello and piano. Special guest will be Woody Proctor, an actor, and a student at The Hudson School, reading Beethoven’s famous “Heiligenstadt Testament,” a poignant and touching letter Beethoven wrote to his brothers when he was still a young man, realizing he was going to grow progressively and profoundly deaf.

“Two Chicks and a ‘Cellist” was created to bring the hands on music experience to students in schools, and as a community outreach. In addition to its family concerts, the group presents special short and varied programs to school students to give them a taste of all kinds of music and to involve them actively in the performing experience.

Ticket prices for this concert are $15 general admission, 1/2 price for students and seniors. For information and reservations please call 201-239-1890.

Sinatra Idol available to perform at your next event!

“I won the Sinatra IDOL singing contest and offer Hoboken Style Entertainment. It is very Hoboken Historic and still Hoboken Centric -It’s all good and positive.

We have to celebrate Mr. Sinatra! How many kids from a poor tough neighborhood dream of making it big and become International stars? It’s all just too amazing. And his history is Hoboken too – it’s good to celebrate it.”

For my audiences, I always strive to share compelling music and performance quality. It’s the very least I can do to pay them for all their respect, support and love.”

Thomas Francis Takes His Chances Maxwell’s

    On Friday Feb. 12th 2010…

“This New Jersey 7-piece gypsy psycho synth garage rock trash band from Jersey City will be celebrating the release of their highly anticipated 1st studio album “Don’t give up on me Dad” at Maxwell’s 1039 Washington Street, Hoboken, Friday Feb. 12th at 10PM presented by Dancing Tony.

From accordions to guitars, melodicas to synths, combined with the brash story telling of lead singer and piano player Lizzie Kenny and her brother Felz sharing lead vocals and glockenspiel, this band is a sonic kaleidoscope. Heavy bass and drums have leveled every room they’ve played thus far.

Along with opening act The Invincible Gods this will be an underground carnival of tattooed sound waves. TFTHC has garnered special notoriety for their intense live performances and have an artistic, DIY approach to everything they do. This will be a show you won’t want tho mas.”

Here’s a recent song called “Fight Nihjt:”
