6/24/2009 Update:

What happened?

Just a few weeks ago - Ameritel T-Mobile (732 Washington St.) had a karaoke giveaway promotion at their store - and now it’s for rent!

I recall them talking about moving to a better Hoboken location - but couldn’t find it yesterday, and they didn’t return my emails or phone calls. Anyone see this pop up somewhere else?

6/18/2009 Update:

This spot is doomed!

I’m telling you - I’m keeping this picture below on hand as the permanent stock photo for this location. The FOURTH business in less than three years to close up shop on the southwest corner of 14th and Bloomfield is Good Breed. About six months in, and brown paper on the windows again.

What business would succeed at this teeny-tiny spot?

Word on the street is that GoldHawk Bar & Lounge was recently sold - and is/will be closing. I walked by yesterday afternoon and it seemed closed.

Since I don’t take the PATH every day - Hudson Place isn’t on my itinerary as much as it used to be… But driving by yesterday, I noticed that it looks like Texas BBQ is gone?

When did this happen?

Big chain convenience store

Remember how I hoped a 7 Eleven would come to Hoboken?

Replacing the old Boston Chicken Market at 422 Washington - is a 7 Eleven - Slurpees for everyone! Maybe a WaWa will come next at the old Quik Check / WaMu location!

No date is known for the opening - but they can probably whip these things out fast.

Sunny Cleaners Gone

Hoboken411 reader Lance tipped me off about this doomed business:

“Sunny Cleaners on Willow near 11th is now closed. Sign in the window says something about them moving to Park Cleaners @ 1040 Park, but not sure if that’s the owners’ new place, if that place bought the accounts, or is just holding items or what. Shame, Maria was a really sweet lady. The apartments on the top of the building have recently been undergoing renovation (after being empty for about three or so years). Wonder what’s going to move into the bottom?”
