Hoboken Photo Leftovers for December 20th

Hoboken photo remains of the week: December 20, 2014

Hoboken Photo Leftovers December 20 2014

In the Hoboken Photo Leftovers gallery below:

  • Photo 1: I’m all for the Christmas “Spirit,” believe me. But when people throw cheap, plastic replicas of wreaths and bows – it screams “cheap.” Why bother?
  • Photo 2: Out with one “social bike sharing disaster” and in with “another bike sharing fiasco.” When will these moronic politicians just ADMIT that bike sharing will NOT work here. We’re not in Amsterdam. Bet they can’t wait for sensible people to die off and get replaced by community tree huggers.
  • Photo 3: That Liberty Bar spot uptown is actually a nice space. Me thinks astronomical rent is scaring potential tenants away. Imagine a nice old-fashioned BAR (watering hole) there?
  • Photo 4: The Hoboken Wine House at 11th definitely improved the look of that intersection. Sadly, lame booze selection and shoddy prices remain.
  • Photos 5-6: The obligatory road work shots of the week. But think about this: The city should have been handing out free parking like confetti to quell the anger from residents and employees who suffered. Another botched political opportunity for our dunce in charge.

The year is winding down…

Hoboken photo remains of the week: December 13, 2014

Hoboken Photo Leftovers December 13 2014

In the Hoboken Photo Leftovers gallery below:

  • Photos 1-2: Don’t wear your white pant-suit uptown! The muddy waters left behind by the bangin’ Toll Brothers project will cause your dry cleaning bills to skyrocket!
  • Photo 3: Show Nail & Spa opened up. Have to say, looks very nice inside – like it belongs at Short Hills Mall or something!
  • Photo 4: Joy to the world. Riverside Medical Group is open, complete with pediatric care.
  • Photo 5: Nice to see Stevens Institute do something proactive (unlike the city) by cutting branches away from power lines.
  • Photos 6-7: Shit, so many streets closed by PSE&G last week. Some frustrated drivers got caught in an endless loop until the figured out how to escape!
  • Photo 8: Cheap gas near Hoboken now under $2.50 a gallon.
  • Photos 9-12: More 2014 Christmas Decorations from Baja, Hudson Tavern, 1 Republik and the family at 12th & Hudson. But it sucks some people use those obnoxious “Made in China” blow up contraptions. So, SO cheesy!

Hoboken Photo Leftovers for December 6th

Hoboken photo remains of the week: December 6, 2014

Hoboken Photo Leftovers December 6 2014

In the Hoboken Photo Leftovers gallery below:

  • Photo 1: Any of you remember the famous Stars Wars Arcade Game from 1983 where you flew on the Death Star? 1415 Park Place uptown reminded me exactly of it!
  • Photo 2: FYI the “pounding” of the pillars uptown at 15th & Washington for the new Toll Brothers project is a mental experiment. Has to be!
  • Photo 3: That People Clothing Store that “pretended doom” for like “forever,” finally became doomed officially.
  • Photo 4: The doomed happy-ending massage parlor turned into a “let’s be giddy about christmas gifts” window display to try and pursuade Hoboken shoppers into releasing whatever monetary units they had in their wallets.
  • Photo 5: Hmm. Big Fun Toys at 6th & Wash ALSO changed their exterior markings to RED. What gives? So many businesses did that this year. Was red the “color of the year” at some convention?
  • Photo 6: And lastly, the obligatory PSE&G blockage entry of the week (4th & Grand).

Hoboken Photo Leftovers November 22 2014

In the Hoboken Photo Leftovers gallery below:

  • Photo 1: Looks like they had some structural issues over at Debaun Auditorium on the Stevens Campus.
  • Photo 2: Hoboken’s third place for “blo jobs” opens – Blo-It-Out on Washington between 12th & 13th.
  • Photo 3: 1415 Park Place also quickly reaching it’s final “identity.”
  • Photo 4: Amazing. CVS uptown only had ONE modest “flu shot” sign. They must be suffering since they stopped selling smokes.
  • Photo 5: The obligatory “road closed” entry of the week (4th & Grand).

Hoboken photo remains of the week: November 15, 2014

Hoboken Photo Leftovers November 15 2014

In the Hoboken Photo Leftovers gallery below:

  • Photos 1-6: Impossible to navigate Hoboken when half the roads are closed. No wonder businesses are struggling!
  • Photo 7: Dedicated “Thanksgiving” decorations are rare in Hoboken.
  • Photo 8: At least one business in town recognizes their customers. Wise Vision is now conveniently open on Sundays too!
  • Photo 9: Hmmm. I thought that wacky Tip Toe shoe store was temporary, but it seems the “for rent” signs are gone.
  • Photo 10: Memo: Halloween is over. You can remove the laundry off your apartment now.

Cold rain season is coming. Yuck.

Hoboken Photo Leftovers November 8 2014

In the Hoboken Photo Leftovers gallery below:

  • Photo 1: Fall brings us nice colors – then is gone before you know it. Here’s a scene at Pier A Park. Check it out before it’s too late!
  • Photo 2: Pathetic. All those Board of Ed candidates.. Any of whom got no more than 4% of the population “voting” for them.
  • Photo 3: Rare. Work actually happening at the old Sinatra Cafe. Supposedly turning into an Italian eatery (owned by people who run a place called Queen Margherita). Just in time for winter!
  • Photo 4: PSE&G has torn up the roads so badly the past few months. All-time worst road conditions in Hoboken. All-time worst!
  • Photo 5: The downtown waterfront “Hoboken Skyline” is complete… As in.. “The collection of cookie-cutter buildings is complete!”
  • Photo 6: Manufacturing an “image” uncovered: You may be seeing a “commercial” for that nutty “Clubhouse barber” one day soon. They had a metrosexual on a bicycle as a “prop” for the video shoot. FAKE. We never see people riding their bikes to and from the barber. Such phony baloney. Goes to show you what demographic they’re going after.

Getting brisk. Maybe time for a nice new down jacket?
