Arthur Kill, Fishkill, Catskill, etc.  All these names were spared when New Amsterdam became &quot;New York.&quot;  All are reminders that the Dutch were here before the English.

Even &quot;Hoboken&quot; a town in Belgium, is a stone&#039;s throw from Holland.  

But I think the name &quot;Holland Tunnel&quot; came later.</description>
