New Verizon Wireless Store

1/25/2008 Update:
In case you’re wondering, the new Verizon store opened this week. Joy.
1/3/2008:
Taking the place of the long-defunct and dilapidated Hollywood Deli & Grocery store at 1212 Washington Street, will be a Verizon Wireless store.
Workers on the scene yesterday unpacking “Dead NBA Center” coffin-sized display crates indicated that the store will be open lickety-split. One guy confidently said as soon as January 15th!
I’m sure some uptown residents will be thrilled to have at least one place they can get replacement batteries, new phones or accessories without schlepping downtown.
Wonder if the HATT is needed here, or is this just too simple to muck up? Regardless, first this place shuts down, then Hollywood Video, what’s next? Hollywood Tans and the extinction of “Hollywood” based stores in Hoboken?
Ok, let’s all say in unison: “Oh no, not another cell phone shop, dry cleaner or asian restaurant!” There’s more to come, believe me!
Description: Verizon Wireless store. ‘Nuff said.
Address: 1212 Washington St.
Phone: TBD

I hope it’s a ‘real’ Verizon Wireless store rather than an authorized retailer (whose service tends to, ummm… suck).

and if it is a real verizon store i think we can add the authorized retailer verizon store to the pool for businesses to go under first.

the version store on 3rd and washington is fantastic, btw. I too thought you had to go to the store to get a good deal but they were beyond helpful and very knowledgeable.

WTF is a version store? Looks like someone is a bit tired. Maybe your multi-racial sleepover went a little late last night.

I’m sorry, what do your hardwood floors have to do with anything?

I was calling back to the comments left about you on the accident thread. I think “having your hardwood floors redone” might just be another double-entendre.

How the hell do these places stay open, happy endings with every purchase?

This place is a second site for the one that’s next to LJs. Same owners.
FWIW, I went to the Verizon outlet in Newport, and they wanted to charge me 50 dollars more for a phone than verizon online. That included the rebate. So go figure.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to go to the Newport Mall. if you have a car, then go to the Verizon store in Edgewater. If you don’t, then you are better off going into the city. Newport in one dangerous mall, too much crime going on in and around there.

The store in Secaucus isn’t terrible either.
Of note, Verizon is offering much better specials online of late. Are they trying to elimiate the sh!t show that some of these stores can become?
