Bored? Xmas party at Duffy’s

12/16/2007:

I forgot to pop this up last week, but in case you feel like having a Sunday night drink (or 6), head down to Duffy’s, where they’re having a Christmas party with open bar now until 11pm.

“To Benefit the HOBOKEN CLERGY COALITION SHELTER
Donations of WINTER CLOTHING and/or NON-PERISHABLE GOODS are REQUIRED of ALL ATTENDEES

“But what should I bring?”
Good question–Mike “Mr. T” Takano, who works with shelter, was kind enough to provide a list of ideas and particular items of interest:

  • Winter Jackets
  • LARGE cans of coffee
  • Large amounts of dry goods–pasta, rice
  • Think about practical use for the items–that one can of lima beans from the back of your cupboard, while appreciated, won’t do much. The shelter serves dozens of people in need on a daily basis, so keep that in mind when making your donation (there’s a “beggars can’t be choosers” joke in their somewhere, but we’re all above that…)

Oh, and the party…

  • MUSIC BY RAY LONGCHAMP
  • FOOD FROM JOEY’S BBQ
  • BOOZE FROM DUFFY’S (served by the lovely and talented Rebecca)
