Can’t understand this excuse to drink and party. Shouldn’t it be when you feel like it?

I have some friends that gravitate towards events like this. They cannot answer that question. They appear to be programmed to consume when others tell them to. In my opinion, they don’t quite think independently. Which is why I’ve scaled back my involvement with them. Feels unnatural.

You need to reevaluate how you judge people and realize your lack of enjoyment for this particular activity is causing your bias.

If you go to a baseball/football game with a bunch of friends and a stadium of other people are you being programmed to enjoy that activity because you are told to? Are you not an independent thinker because you are part of mass activity? What about church on Sunday, shouldn’t people choose when they feel like praying? Concert? Play?

You are saying any organized activity that is preplanned makes you a non independent thinker drone who only does what everyone else is. People make the choice to want to go out drinking with friends and others, who also like spending an afternoon bar hopping when the weather is beautiful. Others will choose from a million other activities. [quote comment=”221585″]Can’t understand this excuse to drink and party. i can’t agree with you more. how does wanting to go out with your friends on a saturday to support a cause and, dare i say it, maybe have fun make you unnatural? why put so much emphasis on the “why?” and just let people live! lol people like spiffy need to lighten up… do what you wanna do… the end! geez![quote comment=”221589″]You need to reevaluate how you judge people and realize your lack of enjoyment for this particular activity is causing your bias.If you go to a baseball/football game with a bunch of friends and a stadium of other people are you being programmed to enjoy that activity because you are told to? I don’t need to pay to have friends. Nor do I want a cheap t-shirt I wouldn’t even dry my car off with.

In a nutshell, because it enables you to show your peers that you are a fun, social person who is conscientious and generous enough to support a charity, and financially secure enough to do so, by virtue of the additional cost.

You’re payment is being donated to a good cause. So you’re paying for shirt, to hang out with people like yourself, maybe make new friends, have an amazing time and supporting a great cause while you’re at it. Sounds pretty good to me.
